We are grateful to the Nevada Arts Council for their support during these uncertain times. This school was supported, in part, by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and the state of Nevada.

COVID-19 UPDATE:

IT IS WITH REGRET THAT WE ANNOUNCE THE CANCELLATION OF THE 2021 SUMMER PROGRAMS THIS YEAR.  WE ARE TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR THE SUMMER 2021 SEASON NOW!  PLEASE CONTACT US WITH YOUR QUESTIONS.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND BE SAFE.

We offer one or two two-week long workshops evey summer, devoted to throwing on the potters wheel as well as hand-building. Program design is customized to fit the needs of each individual student.

The Tuscarora Summer Pottery School was established in the summer of 1966 by Dennis and Julie Parks. They chose this place because of its quiet, vast open spaces, clean air, clear skies, and rugged mountains.

Our aim is to provide a concentrated, supportive atmosphere for both those seeking an introduction to ceramics as well as more seasoned practitioners wanting to expand their skills and confidence.
